My trip back to the cold and dark north went well but I have to say I would rather be hunting some wildlife with my camera in India.

Once again thank you so much for the brilliant trip and for taking care of me. I am still on the mission to sort out my +3200 photos...

We traveled with Chinkara Journeys in the Autumn 2015 (through Odisha and Chhattisgarh) for a cultural tour of central India. I have been to many many places in the world, but found this tour one of the most "real" and rewarding . The tour operator, guides and drivers were so considerate of both us (the tourists) and the local community. We saw the "real" India, and didn't feel like we disturbed life there for a moment. We visited villages, markets, artisans, homes, temples (11th century), schools and national parks. Forget the Taj Mahal, go and see Odisha and Chhattisgarh, and look at life. Thank you Chinkara. Hope to see you again soon.

Thank you Chinkara Journeys for a wonderful introduction to India. It was no easy task fulfilling our wish to see as much of Central India's "wildside" as possible in a short time but you delivered above and beyond what we expected. Thank you Saurabh for helping us experience hidden gems, off the main track places and of course the amazing wildlife that Central India has to offer. Nothing was too much for you and it was great having our own personal naturalist with us!

We recently (late October 2014) spent 2 days on safari in the excellent Kanha National Park. Our enjoyment of the park was largely thanks to Raj, our driver/guide/tiger tracker extraordinaire/all-round nature expert. He really knows his stuff and was constantly spotting things that we would otherwise never have seen. He alone is a good reason to say at the Shergarh Tented Camp where he is based. However, the camp is a lovely place in its own right and Katie and Jehan were perfect hosts. Definitely one of the nicest places that I have ever stayed in India.

We booked our Indian wildlife adventure through Chinkara Journeys. Although they didn't offer the cheapest package, we liked the sound of what they had to offer (staying at the Shergarh Tented Camp) and the fact that they were straightforward and timely with their communications. They turned out to be reliable and efficient too. We particularly appreciated Saurabh Agrawal's personal touch of meeting us at Raipur airport and giving us everything that we would need for our onward 5 hour drive to Shergarh. Many thanks too to Sophie Hartman, who represents the UK side of Chinkara's operations and who met us for a chat about our journey before we left for India.

Chinkara Journeys cunningly arranged for our return journey to Raipur to incorporate a lunch stop at the Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat. Cunning because it left us with the feeling that there was more (to return) to see. The drive from Shergarh alone made it worth the visit.
